When we learn to draw, paint or create something using other mediums, we learn more than techniques.

While we are creating, we learn to work with uncertainties, to adjust our ideas to what is happening, to tackle problems, to cope with failures and with successes. We learn to try out new ideas, to pay attention to detail ánd to the bigger picture, to work with others and value their views.

When we learn about great artists from the past and present, we learn about life at different times and places, seen from different perspectives. Studying their choices about subject and techniques inspires us to visualise our ideas about our own life and the world around us.
